Tolworth and Hook Rise ward Liberal Democrats has developed this policy so that you can feel confident about the privacy and security of the personal information that you provide to us.
Disclosure of information
Your local Councillors comply fully with the Data Protection Act 1998. We take all reasonable care to prevent any unauthorised access to and use of your personal data.
Our staff maintain a responsibility to keep your information confidential and will only use it to offer relevant information and services related to your enquiry.
Any personal details that we use to provide advice, information or our services to you (e.g. name, address, email address, telephone number, or any details of the services you have been given about which you have enquired) will not be passed to any third party organisation for any purpose without your permission and will not be used by us for any purpose other than that which you requested.
However, should you make an enquiry of a nature that we need to contact a council officer(s) to resolve the issue/matter then we may need to disclose details which could identify you, e.g. if you require a new recycle bin we would obviously need to disclose your address. If your enquiry is of a more general nature e.g., street cleaning, then all we would disclose is that a particular road needs to be visited and we would not disclose who may have made the complaint to us, just that it was a resident; likewise if your complaint relates to a neighbour, who has an overhanging hedge for example, we would not disclose who raised it with us. If any of this is unclear please either contact us, or simply state that you do not want your details passed on to anyone else.
